General Rules

1. All fish caught are to be returned to the lake with the exception of:

  • a. Reasonable number of small roach which can be used for live-bait.
  • b. Pike (when approved in advance by the Committee).
  • c. Zander (Walleye) - This species should never be returned to the lake.

2. A maximum of 2 rods per angler may be used at any one time. Rods must be under direct supervision of all times. These rods are not to be dispersed in such a manner as to hinder other fishermen from occupying a place on the bank. Night fishing is permitted on our lake. 3. Only one hook per line may be used (except when live-baiting). Anglers are encouraged to use barbless or micro-barb hooks. Spinners/artifical lures may be used. 4. All carp caught of any size are to be returned immediately to the water. The only exception is during organized club matches in which proper keepnets are to be used. 5. Do not remove any weeds from the lake. 6. Children are the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times. 7. Membership cards or Invitational Day Tickets must be carried at all times and should be presented upon request by another member. Day tickets must be paid for in advance and can be procured from any Committee Member. 8. You may use BBQ grills but No open fires on the grounds are permitted except under supervision during work days as per our legal contract. 9. Keep your fishing area clean and take all the rubbish back home. Do not leave at the shed. 10. Cars are to be parked only in the entrance area or a maximum of 2m from the edge of the road or other designated parking areas. Vehicles are not authorized to be driven on the banks. The ground is quite soft and driving on this could create bank damage (ruts etc.) making it difficult to use a lawn mower to cut the grass. 11. Noise is to be kept to an acceptable level - this includes the volume of electronic bite alarms. 12. You are only authorized to fish in the SHAPE Lake. Do not fish in any of the other lakes to the left or right of us. These are private lakes. 13. The entrance gates are to be closed (locked) on your arrival and departure. This is to prevent vandalism, theft, and unauthorized persons from fishing in the lakes.

Note: As a member of our fishing club, you will be requested to participate in the various fund raisers (flea market, fun fest, etc) that we do during the year and to help on work days to cut the grass, repair holes, etc. This is also our responsibility as per our legal contract. Our annual membership fees are kept low based on this income from these events.
